The Players Course is an 18 hole championship layout, originally designed by George Cobb and opened in 1974. The course was later modified by Rees Jones in 1988 and features 79 bunkers and eight ponds/lakes. Designed by Dan Maples, nationally known for creating some of the Carolina’s top courses, Rocky River Golf Club is the premier public course in the Charlotte metropolitan area and is owned by the City of Concord. Managed by the Embassy Suites-Concord, it is one of the only courses in the state of North Carolina to offer stay and play packages with a fantastic hotel affiliate.
Rocky River is a beautiful golf course that utilizes many of the existing features of the area to provide a great setting for golf. The routing flows through the existing contours of the land, and is bordered by the Rocky River and surrounding wetlands. An existing boulder that was too large to move during construction provides a memorable tee shot on hole #3. There are also various species of wetland grasses along the edges of the fairways adding a touch of ruggedness and links feel.
Rocky River appeals to all skill levels of golfer from beginners to scratch, with 5 sets of tees including PGA Junior tees on the front 9 providing a setup for young players and beginners. The expected pace of play is 4 hours 30 minutes, with starting times scheduled on 10 minute intervals.

The Golf Shop at Rocky River is open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm during the in season months, and 8:00 am to 5:30 pm during the winter months.
It is the perfect place to stock up on any needed equipment before your round. All the latest equipment from Adams Golf, Callaway, Titleist, and Wilson are available with demo clubs to try on the course. We also match all prices of the off course retail stores, so come try before you buy by hitting shots outside, and not into a video simulator! Several great lines of apparel and shoes are also available from Adidas, Ashworth, Greg Norman, Antigua, and Foot Joy.
Club Fitting is available with one of our PGA Professionals by appointment for a $25 fitting fee. If clubs are purchased, the fitting fee is taken off of the price of the purchase.
